Diablo Sound's Recap of 2017

2017 is over, and everyone here at Diablo Sound has a lot to be grateful for. It has been a very satisfying year for us, and if you don't mind, we'd like to share a few of our success stories with you.

​Diablo Sound has been an integral part of Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights since 2005, and this year was no different. Our company was responsible for audio content and system design, show control design and implementation, and installation and operation of all mazes and the backlot Terror Tram. We also managed all audio for events on the Five Towers Stage at Universal Citywalk, and provided mix engineering services for Margaritaville.

 Since 2016, Diablo Sound has worked with Victory Hill Exhibitions to design the audio system, program audio and show control, and oversee installation of Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N., presented in 7 countries. This year, we installed this exciting exhibit in Beijing, Taipei, and Moscow.

We're also very excited for the imminent opening of the Transformers Autobots Alliance interactive exhibit in China, which should prove to be equally successful. Diablo Sound provided the sound design and integration, as well as the show control design for Transformers Autobots Alliance.

Jena Hunt in THE OPEN DOOR - Wicked Lit 2017

Our own Drew Dalzell and Noelle Hoffman received their 4th Ovation Awards nomination for the 4th consecutive year in the category of Sound Design (Large Theatre) for Wicked Lit. Their notable work on Unbound Productions’ most popular show – currently in its 9th year – earned Drew and Noelle 2 wins in 2014 and 2015 with LA STAGE Alliance’s peer-judged award show. Similar to the Tony Awards in New York, the Ovation Awards were created to recognize excellence in theatrical performance, production, and design in the Greater Los Angeles area.

In total, Drew now has a personal total of 3 Ovation Award wins. Designing sound for LA Theatre is still a passionate labor of love for Diablo Sound.

Diablo Sound was proud to once again partner with Utopia Entertainment, facilitating the background music installation in the Rodeo Drive Shipping district during the holiday season.
